They're for figuring out how your hair behaves, what techniques do and don't work, and whether or not the style you've chosen suits you, your accessory/veil and your overall Bridal vision. This isn't something you want to figure out on your Wedding morning, trust me! Trials allow us to truly understand your likes & dislikes, what tweaks you'd like to make to your final look & whether the style we decide on makes you feel like an elevated version of you and not just someone else wearing a hairstyle you liked the look of. It'll help you to envisage how your Bridal vision will come together and also gives you the opportunity to try out a couple of different looks. Following your trial, and on the lead up to your Big day, I will send you confirmation and round up emails which will contain all your booking information. I will also provide a rough schedule for the morning of your Wedding so that your Bridesmaids are aware of where they need to be, and when. All my Wedding bookings include time for veil fitting, touch ups and photos. I book out the entire morning to be with you and support you through your getting ready process. This includes getting into dresses and helping you down stairs or through courtyards to get you to your aisle! I am able to stay around your venue to help you remove your veil/add in any extra accessories and to provide any last minute touch ups in time for your photos, at an extra cost. Did you know... I have been in the hair industry since I was 15, working as a Saturday girl in a salon in Leighton Buzzard. I gained my NVQ Level 2 in Hairdressing and was very quickly one of the main people in the salon to attend our Wedding & Events bookings. I worked in the salon until I was offered a position as Cabin Crew for British Airways. Travel is one of my joys in life so I took the job and managed to keep up my love of hair thanks to my very dear friend Libby Chandler MakeUp Artistry who pushed me to keep in touch with my skill. We've all been there... planning our hair wash schedule, our wake up, and our taxi timings around how we'd like our hair and make up to look for the event. Having someone to help take one of those tasks off your hands alleviates the stress and organisation that comes with getting ready for any event, no matter how small. All Up Styles All up styles are the perfect choice for someone who prefers to have their hair off their back. These styles can be loose looking, they can be textured, they can be smooth, they can be sleek, tightly pulled all away from your face or they can include some face-framing tendrils. They can even be created to be a specific style that will show off the length of your hair whilst still being tied out of your way. All up styles are any style that incorporates all of the hair (minus a few face framing pieces or loose tendrils). These styles vary to include anything from buns, rolls & twists to plaits/braids and the very quickly trending...ponytail! Half Up Styles Half up styles are perfect for those wanting a bit of structure in their style whilst still wanting to look like their hair is 'down'. These styles can help to keep hair off your face or shoulders, they can create height in the crown area or they can just be to add some detail to the style, giving it a bit of personality. If you'd like your hair down but find your hair drops in volume quite easily, it knots up in the wind or you tend to play with it a lot and are worried you might move it around too much, causing it to loose its shape, I highly recommend a half up instead of an all down style. The structure of a half up style will help ease all of these concerns. Hollywood Waves All Down Styles Wanting to show off some length or thickness? To look 'done up' without looking too structured? Maybe you'd like to see if covering your shoulders will balance out your barely there or strapless dress? An all down style may be for you! All down styles vary from waves and curls, to sleek & straight looks. They can look full glam and can even be created to give off a naturally beautiful 'I woke up like this' vibe. If you have fine hair, or find your hair loses its shape quite quickly, extensions should be considered for these types of styles. Hollywood waves vary massively from soft and delicate, to the classically deep and dramatic. The front can be sleek and tucked behind the ears for a modern look, it can be kept more natural and create a bit of a face framing look, or it can involve a lot of volume with a dramatic 'quiff' or 'cows lick' which will highlight the wave and movement in the hair. If you have fine hair, or find your hair loses its shape quite quickly, extensions should be considered for these types of styles. Extensions aren't only for creating length, they give the look of fullness and are great for creating a good 'base' for the style which helps it to hold its shape. Frequently Asked Questions for your Wedding morning Back Frequently Asked Questions TRIALS Timings Trial sessions take around 2-3hrs and an extra hour will be added on for every additional person who would like a trial (Bridesmaids...etc.). Feel free to have people with you for the trial to offer different opinions. Having your Bridesmaids there creates the perfect opportunity for me to meet them too! It is worth noting though that too many differences of opinion can cause confusion. It is YOUR Day and the trial is to help us figure out what makes you feel like the best version of yourself whilst keeping that final 'Look' in mind, which will ensure everything comes together perfectly. When I recommend booking your trial in for around 8-12 weeks before your Big day. Around this time, your hair should be a similar length, colour, texture and thickness to how it'll be On The Day. I strongly recommend booking a trial, however it's completely up to you whether you'd like one and when you would like to book one in for. Most people will try to coincide their trial with another special event such as a Hen party, Date night or Dress fitting. I also recommend trying to time your Make up trial and Hair trial for the same day. Pricing & Location Trial pricing is the same as On The Day pricing. I am a mobile stylist so all Trials are held at your preferred location. Any travel further than 15miles will incur a travel fee of 50p per mile. WEDDING DAY What to expect All my Wedding bookings include time for veil fitting, touch ups and photos. I book out the entire morning to be with you and support you through your getting ready process, this includes getting into dresses and helping you down stairs or through courtyards to get you to your aisle! Timings As a guide, I usually advise around 1hour per person and will often allow 1.5hours for the Bride if they're having a detailed style.These timings don't have to be in blocks as we can prep styles before circling back to dress them, however, it's important to overestimate how much time each style will take rather than underestimate. It's best to aim to finish 30 - 60mins before you're due to walk down the aisle. This allows plenty of time for touch ups, photos, getting into dresses and any delays that might happen...trust me, you'll be grateful for the spare moment! What to do Please wash your hair the night before and ensure it is blow dried smooth by keeping the hair dryer nozzle pointed towards the tips of your hair strands. This helps to keep the cuticle of your hair smooth and give your hair a lovely shine. Water and steam can cause your hair to return to its natural state so, to prevent your style from dropping out, please steam any dresses the night before and shower before your styling slot.
